Competitive Soccer U12 Boys Update

This e-mail is being sent in order to provide some clarity around what will be happening this year with our Laure Storm boys programs for u11 and u12 age boys (boys born in 2006 and 2007).

For the Spring 2018 season, we are planning once again to have both a u12 boys Academy and U12 boys Competitive program.

The primary differences between the Academy and Competitive programs are cost, travel, and level of competition.

The fee for the Academy program for 2018 is $185. The fee for the Competitive program will be $325. Competitive players are also expected to pay for both a dark and a light jersey, so jersey expense is slightly higher as well.

The Academy program will include scheduled "friendlies" and Academy days, as we've done in the past, whereby we will either host matches, or travel a limited distance, in order to gain experience against other local clubs.

The Competitive program schedule is set to provide matches against other u12 competitive clubs across the state. Travel typically includes greater distances for these matches, as we are depe

ndent on playing against other teams who have competitive U12 programs registered, and last year at the U12 level included travel as far as Butte and Helena.

Players in both programs are eligible to play in tournaments, with the number of tournaments being played typically decided by each team individually.

There will be a tryout for the Competitive team. This team is a selective team, and players must meet a level of ability matched to the expected level of play. The date for that tryout is TBD, but will be posted and communicated via e-mail to all registered u11 and u12 boys. Because we play 9v9 on the u12 level, it is anticipated that the roster for the competitive team will include +/- 14 players.

For the time being, please register for the Academy program for Spring '18, and once tryouts are held and the team is selected, we will collect the remaining fee due from those players selected.

If you have any questions regarding the spring program, please don't hesitate to contact me directly (via call or text), at 406-426-0022, or via e-mail at I will be coaching the U12 boys competitive team this year, and can either answer your question directly or coordinate with the club's competitive committee to get you a response.

Best regards,

Andrew Davis
